Luxury developer Joseph Design Build’s in-house realty group The Joseph Group, joined independent residential real estate brokerage Douglas Elliman Realty, the firm announced on Tuesday.
The Joseph Group’s three-person team, formed in 2020, will operate from the Austin-based Joseph Design Build headquarters.
“Their expertise in the Austin luxury market will be an invaluable asset to the brokerage, and we are looking forward to witnessing how they grow and expand their business,” said Stephen Kotler, CEO of Douglas Elliman Realty’s Western Region, in a statement.
Joseph Design Build, led by Gabe and Thomas Joseph, is a luxury design-build firm focusing on modern infill homes, providing services like architectural and interior design, site acquisition, permitting and construction. The firm will now have access to the Douglas Elliman network through this partnership.
The Joseph Group operates in Downtown Austin, a surging technology hub in the U.S., with a project pipeline totaling more than $160 million, the release says.
“Thomas and his team come to us with an impressive track record, along with a creative, forward-thinking mindset in the luxury space,” said Catherine Lee, president of Douglas Elliman Texas. “We’re pleased to welcome them to the firm.”
In September this year, Lisa Optican, a luxury agent who brokered the deal for Marilyn Monroe’s Brentwood estate, joined Douglas Elliman from Hilton & Hyland. The next month, luxury real estate agent Sandra Fiorenza also joined the firm after a 12-year stint at One Sotheby’s.
Earlier in November, Douglas Elliman Realty expanded into three new locations, including Washington, D.C., Arlington, Virginia, and Bethesda, Maryland, in addition to its expansions into Nevada, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Texas, California and Colorado this year.
The firm also launched Elliman Productions, a content creation app powered by Infinite Creator, to help real estate agents capture videos and photos to promote their property listings.
