John Stanaland Group, a top-producing, family-run brokerage from Orange County that closed more than $300 million in sales last year, has left Villa Real Estate and joined Douglas Elliman Realty.
The 11-member team focuses on luxury coastal homes and will be based out of Douglas Elliman’s office in Newport Beach.
John Stanaland Group holds a number of record sales, including the record for two of the highest sales in Monarch Bay; the highest sale of $6.7 million in Monarch Beach Resort history; the most expensive sale in Laguna Niguel for $9.7 million and the Strand for $19.3 million; and the third-highest sale in Coto de Caza — along with four of the five highest condo sales in Orange County.
“Douglas Elliman’s presence in Southern California grows stronger by the day,” said Howard M. Lorber, executive chairman of Douglas Elliman. “I am confident that John and his team will help us to accelerate that growth and strengthen our standing in Orange County.”
The team’s current listings include a $48.9 million mansion in Laguna Niguel’s Old Ranch Road and a $39.7 million resort home in Montage Way.
“The John Stanaland Group brings enviable expertise in the coastal Orange County market,” Stephen Kotler, CEO of Douglas Elliman’s Western Region, said in a statement.
Stanaland, a fifth-generation real estate professional from Laguna Beach, has more than $4.5 billion in total sales.
“John and his family’s roots in Orange County real estate run deep,” said Scott Durkin, CEO of Douglas Elliman Realty. “I look forward to watching him and his team grow here for many years to come.”
The team includes Stanaland’s wife Rachel and son Trevor, Logan Montgomery, Andrew Ly, Brenda Milan, Deb Robinson, Gary McCord, Morgan Just, Mitch Frisch, Taylor Nelson, and Mariam Bell. His oldest son, Tyler Stanaland, is a popular face on the Netflix show “Selling the OC” and is currently affiliated with The Oppenheim Group.
“With the considerable resources and global reach they provide, I am excited to invest in the future growth of the Stanaland team alongside this great company,” Stanaland said.
Last November, luxury developer Joseph Design Build’s three-person realty group, The Joseph Group, joined Douglas Elliman Realty. The brokerage launched Elliman Productions the same month, which is a content creation and marketing app for real estate agents that is powered by Infinite Creator.
Douglas Elliman Realty was featured in RealTrends’ 500 in the “Top Real Estate Brokerages By Sides” category in 2022 and had more than $51 billion in sales volume in 2021.
