Here\u2019s the thing: what you need to do to improve your engagement is to&nbsp;<em>engage<\/em>! Engage with other people&#8217;s content and reach out to them first.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ol>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Go onto <a href=\"adwerx-adds-instagram-to-popular-automated-listing-advertising-program\/\">Instagram<\/a> and find at least five people you would like to have consistent engagement with. This can be anyone you\u2019d like to connect with and share your valuable content with <\/span>\u2013<span lang=\"EN-US\"> ideally someone from your target audience and a potential customer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Follow five Instagram accounts of the people you\u2019ve chosen, and \u201clike bomb\u201d them! Go through their feed, like every post you enjoy, and leave a minimum of five comments on five different posts. How should you comment? You can respond to questions or prompts they\u2019ve posted. You can ask a question about what they\u2019ve posted. Say anything you like, just engage as a human being, in a meaningful way \u2013 with more than emoji.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Why Try This Strategy?<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Focusing on the number of followers and trying to bulk follow a whole bunch of people, like we\u2019ve done in the past, doesn\u2019t work anymore. The number of followers doesn\u2019t matter as much as the relative number called \u201cengagement rate.\u201d This is the number that will indicate how well you\u2019re doing with your <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quicksprout.com\/instagram-marketing-strategy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Instagram strategy<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Engagement is the king of everything, and only engagement will bring others\u2019 eyes to our content. If people don\u2019t engage with your content on a regular basis, they are much less likely to see it in the future based on the latest algorithm changes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">We must appear human in social media. People want to follow people they like, not brands. There is no brand commitment anymore. People shop around all the time. Nobody goes to buy things at the same place just because they are committed to that brand or because their Instagram feed is amazing. They shop with a business and&nbsp;come&nbsp;back only because they like the people there <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u2013<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> they like how those people make them feel, and what they get from the brand on an ongoing basis (inspiration, value tips, etc.).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cFor #SocialMediaDay,\u201d says Irina, \u201cuse our society\u2019s social media addiction for good.
