The information is pulled from earnings reports of the top public real estate companies along with proprietary data collected by RealTrends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Variations in average commission rates are common, as you can see from the graph below.&nbsp;<strong>RealTrends<\/strong>&nbsp;tracks total gross commission which is now around 5.32%. While RealTrends doesn\u2019t track commissions by side, they do track the transaction sides of commissions in total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"infogram-embed\" data-id=\"297c49a1-3d90-41a5-863b-135549cb2cb2\" data-type=\"interactive\" data-title=\"National Average Commission Rates Historical Data\"><\/div><script>!function(e,i,n,s){var t=\"InfogramEmbeds\",d=e.getElementsByTagName(\"script\")[0];if(window[t]&&window[t].initialized)window[t].process&&window[t].process();else if(!e.getElementById(n)){var o=e.createElement(\"script\");o.async=1,o.id=n,o.src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed-loader-min.js\",d.parentNode.insertBefore(o,d)}}(document,0,\"infogram-async\");<\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I think one of the underreported factors that we first noticed back in 2020 was that the top-performing individual agents and teams were grabbing a rapidly increasing share of the market \u2014 a trend that continued in 2022,&#8221; said Steve Murray, a senior advisor for <strong>HW Media<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;If we were to look at the average commission rate for top agents and teams, we would find that it mirrors these results,&#8221; added Murray.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2021, RealTrends looked at the profit and loss statements of several hundred teams for the <a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.realtrends.com\/blog\/articles\/study-its-true-real-estate-teams-outperform-brokerage-firms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RealTrends Team Profitability Study<\/a>.
