{"id":4178,"date":"2023-04-10T19:14:07","date_gmt":"2023-04-10T19:14:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/preprod.realtrends.com\/blog\/2023\/04\/10\/agentpulse-q2-2023-the-key-to-repeat-and-referral-business-revealed\/"},"modified":"2025-03-13T02:50:15","modified_gmt":"2025-03-13T02:50:15","slug":"agentpulse-q2-2023-the-key-to-repeat-and-referral-business-revealed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/preprod.realtrends.com\/blog\/2023\/04\/10\/agentpulse-q2-2023-the-key-to-repeat-and-referral-business-revealed\/","title":{"rendered":"AgentPulse Q2 2023: The key to repeat and referral business revealed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>When it comes to getting a leg up in today&#8217;s market, it&#8217;s no surprise that real estate agents overwhelmingly said that researching the market and continually connecting with her sphere of influence are key. &#8220;Staying top of mind with my sphere of influence and past clients through events and regular communication brings me more business than I could ever generate on my own,&#8221; says Troy Williams, an agent with <strong>Williams Realty Partners\/Keller Williams Coastal Realty<\/strong> in Maine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asked in the <strong>Q2 2023 RealTrends AgentPulse <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.realtrends.com\/blog\/research\/agentpulse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">survey<\/a> which marketing activity earns the highest return on investment, about 90% of respondents mentioned continual connection with their sphere of influence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"infogram-embed\" data-id=\"0dff02a9-84c9-4a53-8ab4-6b4b18f9a6d3\" data-type=\"interactive\" data-title=\"Q2 2023 - Agent Pulse\"><\/div><script>!function(e,i,n,s){var t=\"InfogramEmbeds\",d=e.getElementsByTagName(\"script\")[0];if(window[t]&&window[t].initialized)window[t].process&&window[t].process();else if(!e.getElementById(n)){var o=e.createElement(\"script\");o.async=1,o.id=n,o.src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed-loader-min.js\",d.parentNode.insertBefore(o,d)}}(document,0,\"infogram-async\");<\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>As for keeping in touch with past clients, &#8220;I host an annual fall festival, drop by Girl Scout cookies, pies at Thanksgiving, sweet treats in the spring and See\u2019s candies at Christmas,&#8221; said Karen Goddard with <strong>Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Troth Realtors<\/strong> in California. &#8220;I love visiting my clients, seeing the changes they\u2019ve made to their homes and dropping by gifts throughout the year,&#8221; she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A close second was paid lead generation through <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.realtrends.com\/blog\/articles\/opendoor-and-zillow-expand-their-partnership\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zillow<\/a><\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.realtrends.com\/blog\/articles\/top-lessons-for-killer-social-media-content\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">social media<\/a>, specifically <strong>Facebook<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New agent success tips<span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>RealTrends also asked the question: What did you do at the beginning of your real estate career that set you up for success. &#8220;Know the market, learn the inventory and establish a local presence,&#8221; said Richard Walsh with <strong>William Raveis Real Estate<\/strong> in Massachusetts. He was not alone in that suggestion. Some 40% of respondents said the same. Other suggestions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Work as an assistant to a top producing agent<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Constantly email and door knock<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Send a <a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.realtrends.com\/blog\/articles\/5-ways-to-boost-sales-with-real-estate-newsletters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">monthly newsletter<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Making at least 10 prospecting calls a day<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend a coaching or training conference such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buffiniandcompany.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Buffini<\/a> Training or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tomferry.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tom Ferry&#8217;s<\/a> workshops.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Volunteer to do other agent&#8217;s open houses and floor time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Call every FSBO and expired listing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RealTrends AgentPulse<\/strong>&nbsp;requests quarterly surveys from some 19,000+ real estate agents around the nation on market trends, opportunities and challenges. Of the 254 completed surveys, 19.2% were from the Northeast, 30% were from the Southeast, 20% from the Southwest, 22% from the Midwest, and 9% from the Northwest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Educating buyers and sellers on the current market and <a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.realtrends.com\/blog\/articles\/7-tips-to-engage-your-real-estate-sphere-of-influence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">building relationships<\/a> are key today. Real estate professionals were not as optimistic about Q2 2023 compared to Q1 2023. Some 44% of agents surveyed were optimistic about the market (down slightly from 46% in Q1 2023). Some 42% were neutral and 14% were pessimistic about the next three months of housing sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, some 43% of respondents think home sales will be up this quarter, 40% said they will be flat and 19% said they would be down.
