The Leadbetters started their brokerage,<strong> Lake James Real Estate<\/strong>, in 2003, and will now conduct business as <strong>Engel &amp; V\u00f6lkers Foothills.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake James Real Estate has served communities across the Carolina foothills for almost 20 years and specializes in luxury homes, second homes and lakefront properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anthony Hitt, the president and CEO of <strong>Engel &amp; V\u00f6lkers Americas, <\/strong>says the expansion is a response to the current market conditions. The company currently has locations in North Carolina, including Asheville, Banner Elk, Cashiers, Charlotte and Raleigh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Home prices are up significantly across the state compared to last year. As a result, home buyers are seeking out destinations like the Carolina foothills that can provide a slower pace of life with convenient access to larger cities like Charlotte and Asheville,\u201d Hitt added in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Leadbetters and their team says they will leverage <a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.realtrends.com\/blog\/articles\/engel-volkers-americas-stuart-siegel-promoted-to-chief-strategy-officer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Engel &amp; V\u00f6lkers\u2019<\/a> reach and resources to expand their business in the Morganton, Marion, Nebo, Lake James, Old Fort, Hickory, Valdese and Connelly Springs markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lake James <a href=\"https:\/\/lakejamesrealestate.com\/our-team\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">team<\/a> is comprised of the Leadbetters, along with real estate advisors Denice Rechtiene, Dianne Reihl, Lisa Griffin, James Hall, Laura Faria, Victoria Abernathy, Cory Coady and Monica Wakefield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEngel &amp; V\u00f6lkers is known for its global network of real estate advisors possessing rich local expertise in markets around the world,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/homes.lakejamesrealestate.com\/idx\/agent\/52923\/polly-leadbetter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Polly Leadbetter.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Morganton and Nebo markets boast a \u201dsmall-town feel\u201d with scenic landscapes, cultural hubs, views of Lake James and outdoor activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Pollu Leadbetter, the region brings with it friendly residents and \u201cSouthern charm.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWith homes in the Carolina foothills hitting multi-million dollar price points, joining forces with Engel &amp; V\u00f6lkers will help us gain the national and global exposure we\u2019ve always wanted to bring to this area and our luxury properties,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last November, Taso Tsakos, Keri O\u2019Reilly, Karen Roy, Cat Spender and Skylar Santa Barbara left rival brokerage <strong>The Agency <\/strong>and joined Engel &amp; V\u00f6lkers as real estate advisors.
