{"id":3828,"date":"2022-12-23T20:28:28","date_gmt":"2022-12-23T20:28:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/preprod.realtrends.com\/blog\/2022\/12\/23\/illinois-team-leaves-compass-joins-properties-christies-international\/"},"modified":"2025-03-13T02:48:32","modified_gmt":"2025-03-13T02:48:32","slug":"illinois-team-leaves-compass-joins-properties-christies-international","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/preprod.realtrends.com\/blog\/2022\/12\/23\/illinois-team-leaves-compass-joins-properties-christies-international\/","title":{"rendered":"Illinois team leaves Compass, joins @properties Christie\u2019s International"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Illinois-based real estate agent Brandy Issac and her team, which was formerly affiliated with <strong>Compass,<\/strong> have joined <strong>@properties Christie\u2019s International Real Estate, <\/strong>according to an announcement Isaac made on Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team, which operates in the Glenview, Evanston, Wilmette and North Shore suburbs, closed $30 million in transactions this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team\u2019s move comes at a time when Compass plans to cut around 20% of its operating expenses, totaling $320 million, by the end of the year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.housingwire.com\/winner-profile\/2022-hw-tech-trendsetter-joni-meyerowitz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">@properties<\/a> was the 9th largest residential brokerage firm in the RealTrends 500 Rankings, with a closed sales volume of $23.9 billion in 2021. In December 2021, @properties acquired Christie\u2019s International Real Estate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The brokerages announced in August that they made record sales of more than $23 billion in company-owned brokerage business and more than $75 billion in total network sales volume, including @properties and Christie&#8217;s International Real Estate affiliates, in the last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the recent addition of Christie\u2019s International Real Estate\u2019s invitation-only affiliate network, the company now operates in 50 countries and territories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Compass ranked first in the <a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.realtrends.com\/blog\/real-trends-500\/\">2022 RealTrends 500<\/a> rankings in the sales volume category but struggled to turn a profit after losing $101 million in Q2 this year. It said the <a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.realtrends.com\/blog\/articles\/compass-chasing-profitability-makes-another-round-of-cuts\/\">losses were due<\/a> to \u201chigher expenses related to strategic business initiatives, non-cash stock compensation, depreciation and amortization as well as restructuring charges due to the cost-saving actions announced on June 14.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The brokerage had a $8 billion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/compass-ceo-robert-reffkin-manage-out-low-performers-leaked-memo-2022-12\">valuation<\/a> in April last year. It earned more than $6 billion in revenue that year, surpassing its rivals <strong>Douglas Elliman<\/strong> and<strong> Redfin.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Friday Compass stock was trading at $2.24 per share and the total value of Compass stock or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallstreetzen.com\/stocks\/us\/nyse\/comp\">market capitalization<\/a> is around $975 million. In April last year, its stocks were at a $20 peak. The brokerage <a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.housingwire.com\/articles\/compass-and-redfin-make-cuts-amid-volatile-market\/\">laid off<\/a> 450 employees in June and <a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.realtrends.com\/blog\/articles\/compass-chasing-profitability-makes-another-round-of-cuts\/\">approximately half<\/a> of its 1,500-member tech team in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>McNair Group,<\/strong> a residential real estate team in Northern California, announced this week that it had left Compass after four years to join Coldwell Banker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In November, top Los Angeles real estate broker and star of <strong>CNBC\u2019s<\/strong> \u201cListing Impossible\u201d Aaron Kirman and his team <a href=\"https:\/\/preprod.realtrends.com\/blog\/articles\/top-l-a-broker-team-leaves-compass-for-christies\/\">left Compass<\/a> and launched their own firm in partnership with Christie\u2019s International Real Estate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Illinois-based agent Brandy Issac and team, formerly affiliated with Compass, joined @properties Christie\u2019s International Real Estate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":39545,"featured_media":4822,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3255],"tags":[],"coauthors":[2886],"class_list":["post-3828","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-archive"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v25.4 (Yoast SEO v26.8) -
