The real estate brokerage consolidation is going strong as we head into 2022. In one of the first of the year, HomeSmart<\/strong><\/a>, acquired Houston-based brokerage Champions Real Estate Group<\/strong> and its more than 1,800 agents. Champions has been serving the entire Houston real estate market for 20 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This latest acquisition brings HomeSmart\u2019s nationwide network to nearly 25,000 agents and increased its footprint to over 200 office locations across over 40 states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 2000, HomeSmart is ranked in No. 7 largest brokerages by closed transaction sides and No. 10 by sales volume in the 2021 RealTrends 500<\/strong> brokerage rankings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a press release, HomeSmart Founder and CEO Matt Widdows says, \u201cHomeSmart\u2019s technology enables scalability. Our model of providing agents choice in technology tools, 100% commission or revenue share, and a high level of service and support truly sets us apart from the other brokerages in the space.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ignacio Osorio, President and CEO of Champions Real Estate Group, built his brokerage on a foundation of support, providing his agents the service they require to succeed in even the most challenging markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Osorio will stay on the Houston-based team, following HomeSmart\u2019s acquisition. This brokerage will continue to bolster the brand\u2019s expanding footprint in Texas, joining the company\u2019s other corporate and franchised locations across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
